Loose Change

Did you know that you a few bucks lying everywhere around your house, car, office? I always find beneath the bed even the mattress, beneath couches and furniture, all over the car, inside drawers and even in your pockets.

All these money could be spent for the well being of others. So I give you this idea, grab an old container of any kind, grab an envelope or buy a piggy bank like when you were a kid. Store all your loose change and after a while, when you have enough, think what can you buy with these money and send to charity. It can be canned foods, clothing, medicine or the Nutri Bars for the homeless.

There are a lot of ideas you can do with loose change, but don't waste it lying around were no one can beneficiate from it.

Sponsor a Child for only $22 a Month

With Children.org you can sponsor a child for only $22 a month. This money will help with things the child can't have, like food, shoes, medicine, education, clothing, etc.

You can sponsor a child from Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Mexico, The Philippines or Zambia.

You can even choose who you want to sponsor by age, gender or even by the child's photograph.

By sponsoring a child you can write him/her letters, provide gifts and review any information about the child's situation.

Open your heart, think what can $22 a month do for you instead of doing something BIG for someone else, especially a child.

Between 120 and 130 decibels, noise produces pain.

Inside homes, it Can get up to 50 decibels. And in offices up to 65.

In night clubs and rock concerts noise can get up to 110 decibels. Traffic noise can get easily to 85.

SO PLEASE STOP HONKING YOUR HORNS!!!!

Self Medicating

Self-Medication is the use of medicines by own initiative. In the U.S. these term only is referred to non prescription drugs, because of the strict control that exists on dispensing medicine to patients.

In Latin America things don't work that way, all the big retail pharmacy chains worry about selling and not dispensing. This is why drug interactions (when 2 medicines don't mix) and overdose are great concerns in these countries. In the U.S. a pharmacist can’t dispense medicines before talking to the patient’s doctor and clearing the prescription. In Latin America the generic drug industry pays the pharmacist to change the prescription of the original brand for a cheaper medicine that hasn’t been through quality control.

Self-Medication is a delicate issue, that has been studied for years in third world countries and it still hasn’t been resolved or controlled. Did you know that the U.S. spends more than $5.000 million every year for the wrong use of antibiotics? And Europe $9.000?. Imagine how much money it’s spent (it’s not even considered for calculation) in out of control countries?

So think again before taking medicine without talking to your doctor, and if you are ever asked for an opinion or an advice on a prescription drug, just say you are not a doctor and that they should ask them.

Hypertension "Silent Killer"

Did you know that in 2004 in the U.S. 150.000 people died of strokes?. Did you know that in UK every 5 minutes someone suffers a stroke?. Did you know that by 2025 1 billion people are going to suffer high blood pressure?

Heart disease and high blood pressure kill more people each year than the total of people killed in any World War.

Did you know Mexico, Paraguay and Venezuela are the countries with more high blood pressure in the World? 1 of every 3 people of these countries suffers from hypertension. And worst of all, people below 30 that suffer hypertension in this countries are ashamed of taking high blood pressure pills.

It only takes 2 days a year for a routine check up with your doctor. It only takes 5 min. to take your blood pressure. It only takes eating healthy and exercising once in a while to save your life.

Helping starting Today

Today I bought a box of Kellogg's Nutri Grain bars, and I stashed them on my car. These bars are very nutritional with vitamins and fiber and at the same time very fulfilling. Starting today I’m delivering these bars to every homeless person asking for money on the street.

Let's Prevent

The best way to cure cancer, aids or any other disease is preventing it. I know I make it sound like an easy thing to do, and I’m 100% aware it isn’t. But like I always say it’s better to prevent than to lament.

How do can we do this?

- Remind the people you know that they must visit their doctors for a check up every six months.

- Tell your friends not have unprotected sexual relations.

- Promote a nutritional diet.

- Be annoying and tell your smoking friends to leave the habit.

There’s a lot more than we can do. We will be going through one step at a time.

Remember. “Conscious comes first”.

My First Deed

My first Deed that came to mind is to buy any kind of nutritional finger food that doesn't need to be cooked or doesn’t need a fork or a knife, and I’m going to give it to any homeless person I find asking for money on the street. It can be from crackers, granola, small bags of cereal, etc…

Giving money to homeless people may not always help. They usually prefer buying drugs to keep themselves without an appetite. Let’s change thing around!!!

I hope you try it too!!!

"CONSCIOUS COMES FIRST"

The first thing we have to do, is create conscious on ourselves and then to are friends, families, co-workers, neighbors, etc... We have to understand and be clear of what's the problem and how is it affecting us.

It’s is our job to inform people through our blog of what's going on beyond our eyes and our restricted lives. The problem may lie above our reach, but giving a hand in the smallest and insignificant way can be the biggest and most significant way to save someone’s life.

Join "People for the World"

You don't have to join anywhere to be a part of "People for the World", just post a comment once a while with ideas on how to make a better world.

Today I woke up with this idea, tomorrow I will have another one, but I couldn't stop thinking of what to do in my free time. So I thought what better idea to spend my time writing on a blog to see if I catch the attention of people and maybe just maybe do something helpful but creative.

Have you ever thought about how all the big non profit world organizations that everyday try to solve the Worlds problems are just like any other big corporation? Bureaucracy, big spending bills, big offices, politics, etc...

I'm not saying they do not help make a better world, I'm just saying there's a lot of money not well spent in this organizations that never reach their real objective.

Maybe people do not agree with me, but I link to think of myself as a thinker, creator and doer, not just a dreamer or idealist.

I really believe that instead of spending billions of dollars trying to cure cancer, aids, diabetes or any chronic deadly disease, we should be spending TIME preventing this horrible new plague.

To sum it all up, just like everyone else I want to live in a better World and build a future for all the generations to come. So please join me and others in this movement and let’s help each other solve the problems of this troubled World.
